Greater Than, Less Than Lesson Plan

This lesson plan is designed to help Huân understand the concept of greater than/less than/equal in math.
Before jumping right into comparing numbers, as in other math lessons, I think we should start with the concept so that he can understand and have a firm foundation to extend the concept into numbers. So, let's divide up the concept into several steps, going from pictures or images, then slowly into the numbers
  1. Presenting concept of big/small. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  2. Presenting concept of tall/short. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  3. Presenting concept of more/less. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  4. Presenting concept of equal, not equal. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  5. Presenting the concept of greater than/less than/equal for all situations (big/small, tall/short, more/less). 4 samples, 6 practices.
  6. Introduce concept of greater than/less than/equal for numbers, 50% numbers, 50% other images (big/small, tall/short, more/less). 4 samples, 6 practices.
  7. Gradually increase the amount of numbers in the lesson, 80% numbers, 20% other images. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  8. All numbers, part 1. These presenting numbers of 3 digits or less. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  9. All numbers, part 2. These presenting numbers up to 6 digits.. 4 samples, 6 practices.
  10. Quiz 10 questions.
  11. Additional quiz, at interval of one week later to refresh & re-enforce.
  12. Additional quiz, at interval of one month later to refresh & re-enforce.
