Critical Readings

SAT Critical Reading is one tough cookie to crack, so here is a place to practice
  • Each day, go to either Washington Post, New York Times, or New Yorker website, pick an online article to read. Select the one which has a topic that you are not familar.
  • Read the article in its entirety, pay attention to what's the author wants to reveal to you.
  • When encounter new vocabulary, look it up immediately.
  • After reading, ask yourself the questions: What, where, when, why and how; and write a summary.
  • Also, in the summary, please have a comment about the "tone" of the article, is it humorous, dark, positive, serious, ...etc. What do you think of the tone?
  • Enter the link of the article and the new words that you've learned.
