  • G2407.5: This section requires enough volume for the combustion appliance. Here is the link to the IRC Section. Basically, need something similar to this installed in the door to the utilities room. The section of this code is here

Comments

  1. Show your existing stairs configuration, as per IRC 2006, R 311.5 in all aspects. R311.5.1 for width, and R311.5.2 for minimum headroom, and R311.5.3.1 for riser height and R311.5.3.2 for tread depth, R311.5.4 for landings.
  2. Handrails need to comply as well with R311.6.3
  3. Under stairs protection as per R311.2.2
  4. Minimum 6'-8" headroom clearances required
  5. AS PER IRC 2006 R305.1 CEILING MINIMUM HEIGHT NOT LESS THAN 7 FEET FROM FINISHED FLOOR TO THE LOWEST PROJECTION CEILING, AS BY EXCEPTION # 2 CEILING IN BASEMENT WITHOUT HABITABLE SPACES MAY PROJECT TO WITHIN 6 FEET, 8 INCHES OF THE FINISHED FLOOR; AND BEAMS, GIRDERS, DUCTS OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS MAY PROJECT TO WITHIN 6 FEET, 4 INCHES OF THE FINISHED FLOOR. Minimum ceiling height is 7' - 0" for all habitable spaces except under beams, bulkheads, halls, kitchens & bathrooms where the minimum ceiling height is 6' - 8" including any projections.
  6. Provide R-13 minimum insulation in all exterior walls, insulation must be continuous from ceiling to slab.
  7. SMOKE DETECTORS REQUIREMENTS, ON EACH STORY, MUST BE HARD WIRED WITH BATTERY BACK UP, INTERCONNECTED.
  8. AT BATHROOMS SHOW YOUR FIXTURES MINIMUM CLEARANCES REQUIREMENTS AS PER IRC 2006 FIGURE R307.1
  9. PROVIDE EXHAUST TO THE OUTSIDE FOR ALL WINDOWLESS BATHROOMS.
  10. NEED TO SHOW YOUR APPLIANCES LOCATION AND NEED TO PROVIDE THE MINIMUM REQUIRED INDOOR/OUTDOOR COMBUSTION AIR AS PER IRC 2006 SECTION G2407 (304). (NEED TO PROVIDE 50 CUBIC FEET FOR EACH 1000 BTU INPUT AS PER IRC 2006 G2407.5.1) ALTERNATIVELY, COMBUSTION AIR: duct or opening within 12 inches of ceiling and size of 1 sq inch for every 3000 btu/h. AS PER G2407.6.2 (304.6) ONE PERMANENT OPENING METHOD. OR THE 2 OPENING METHOD AS PER G2407.6.1 (304.6.1).
  11. PRESERVATIVE TREATED SOLE PLATES.
  12. PROVIDE FIRE BLOCKING AS REQUIRED.
  13. PROVIDE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS PER CODE.
